Not a problem
Tomorrow is to be really nice and grandkids are at school/nursery so the three of us should be able to finish off the paths, dig over the beds incorporating manure or compost and be ready for seed sowing therafterEndeavour to have lived, so that when you die, even the undertaker will be sorry - Puddinghead Wilson's Diary

Interesting hour at the allotment this morning - potatoes are emerging on both beds in 18A and in 2 of the 7 beds in the shared quarter plot. Broad beans plants all are doing well - pea seedlings can be seen as can beetroot and carrots.
This afternoon I returned with my daughter and we put in 140 onion sets under environmesh - she was well pleased and is hoping to sow some peas and other seeds tomorrow, weather permitting
Her neighbour Taffy who can be seen in the background is also very well pleased with her progress.Attached FilesLast edited by Sheneval; 09-05-2013, 05:19 PM.Endeavour to have lived, so that when you die, even the undertaker will be sorry - Puddinghead Wilson's Diary

Spent 8 hours on allotment today with whole family - planted red cabbage, cauliflower and sweet corn, all under protection. Erected a debris netting fenced off area for the sweet corn and 2 plastic cloches for the cabbage and cauliflowers. - pics to follow
My son in law strimmed the neglected plot next to his, also the neglected plot next to mine turning pic1 into pic2.Attached FilesLast edited by Sheneval; 25-05-2013, 09:04 PM.Endeavour to have lived, so that when you die, even the undertaker will be sorry - Puddinghead Wilson's Diary

It was the one my daughter wanted when she put in for her plot but, apart from the neglected plot adjoining hers, she is surrounded by some great people and I now spend more time on her plot than I do on my own chatting to her neighbours
However, I wouldn't mind taking it over as the Irish guy on the other side of the neglected plot is equal in character, (and I enjoy his patter), to the others described above and a newcomer across the path is nearly as good - he helped carry my toolbox out tonight as I was overloaded and on my second exit trip. Really good crowd on this site both originals and newcomers.
Mind you I am a bit like you in this respect and generally get on well with everyone, with only the odd exception. So far I have only found one on this site that I don't like as he walks about with a face like thunder and I notice he shouts at his young (3-5 year old) granddaughter, so have no particular desire to make his acquaintance.
I would be quite happy with a full plot but doubt if they will let me have it despite there being 13 neglected plots on the site and little or no waiting list - I'll wait and seeEndeavour to have lived, so that when you die, even the undertaker will be sorry - Puddinghead Wilson's Diary

Generally great bunch of people - on average it takes 15 minutes to get from my plot to the car - a distance of about 200 yards and they say women are blethers.Last edited by Sheneval; 27-05-2013, 09:55 PM.Endeavour to have lived, so that when you die, even the undertaker will be sorry - Puddinghead Wilson's Diary

Had to produce FHS books in Troon Library this morning for Saturday's History Fair so missed this morning's nice weather and had to go up in the rain to finish planting some leftover Brussels Sprouts, Swedes and Red Cabbage in my plot 18A. Also had to provide a quick protective pen using debris netting and canes - will improve this tomorrow when I cut some wooden posts.Attached FilesLast edited by Sheneval; 28-05-2013, 07:39 PM.Endeavour to have lived, so that when you die, even the undertaker will be sorry - Puddinghead Wilson's Diary

At allotment yesterday from 1200 to 1700 mostly weeding my onion and garlic bed - put in some FBB
Sowed some iceberg lettuce - with repeat sowings to follow.
Nearly everything looking in good condition - hope it will taste as good as it looks
Tidied up the neglected plot next door by removing some rubbish - still a bit to do.Attached FilesLast edited by Sheneval; 30-05-2013, 08:10 PM.Endeavour to have lived, so that when you die, even the undertaker will be sorry - Puddinghead Wilson's Diary

Another 6 hours at the allotment today - weeded my daughter's onion bed - a mass of chickweed and some docks - shared a pleasant hour and a beer with two newbies, him from Wolverhampton, her from Birmingham. Amazing how good a cold tenants Lager can taste on a hot sunny day.Attached FilesLast edited by Sheneval; 30-05-2013, 08:13 PM.Endeavour to have lived, so that when you die, even the undertaker will be sorry - Puddinghead Wilson's Diary
