  • Hi, I'm new!

Hi, I have recently moved into a new house surrounded by 9 acres of land with my family. Everyone bought me seeds and fruit trees for Christmas and my birthday, I have planted the fruit trees in our ''front garden'. I now need to organise an area for veg growing . The land previously had sheep on it, will this affect my growing plans?? The land is reasonably flat and we are hoping to reclaim the back garden this summer as it is overgrown and has a large hole - presumably for a pond from the previous owners.

Hi Andra and Welcome. You're very fortunate to have so much land to play with - lots of scope for all sorts of growing.
Could you add your location to your profile please, as it helps us to understand your local growing conditions and climate. You'll see that I'm in Sunny South Wales - I think its time I changed Sunny to Wet

Hi and welcome to the Vine from me too. Our allotment is on reclaimed sheep pasture, and it hasn't affected us or our results at all
