    Hi,

I'm Sian and I got my first allotment (approx 110 sq. m) in November.

Apart from a tiny patch of veg in the garden, I'm a complete novice and planning on making lots of mistakes to learn from as I go.

I've planted some fruit, onions and garlic and am busy clearing beds, getting confused about what I should and shouldn't add to the soil and getting carried away with seed catalogues!

I'm also using my blog to track my progress as I go - Me and my land...

Watch out for those seed catalogues, very seductive.

Lots of garden compost and leafmould. Apart from that: wait and see how your first year goes.

Lots of beginners assume you need to add tonnes and tonnes of manure, lime, sulphate etc .... you don't.
