I'm Polly. I don't have an allotment just a medium sized totally unshaded W facing back garden in 2/3rds of which I have presently got a 4'x15' herb garden, some no dig raised beds and a large area which is over-run with blackthorn and brambles but which I hope to convert to raised beds ASAP. I've been told that this 2/3rd of the garden I have designated as (potential) fruit and veg growing area is equivalent to a half plot so I'm quite pleased about that, hopefully it will go some way towards providing enough veg for myself and my daughter.
The other 1/3 is the pretty bit for attracting wildlife to the garden with a tiny expanse of lawn and right down the bottom a couple of hazels which I intend to coppice for using for hurdle making and poles and if the squirrels permit we might get some nuts too. If I'm able to level the ground right in front of the hazels I might even get to fit a greenhouse in, but that won't be happening for a couple of years yet.
