  • Hello from the Republic of Ireland

Hello Folks. I live in Co. Mayo, Ireland.
I have been growing vegetables and keeping chickens for a good few years. We are on two acres of land, but it is not good land, so we have raised beds and a polytunnel.
I used to do the markets, selling veggies, eggs, bread etc, but due to my hubby having a major health problem a few years ago had to give the markets up.
Now we just grow for ourselves, even more so due to the recession!
We try to be as self-sufficient as possible. Making do and mending is top of the list too.
Also I love to stitch and knit.
So that's a little bit about us.
Looking forward to getting to know you all!

            Hello from the Pyrenees.

I'm another one on marginal land. There's nothing like proving your neighbours wrong when they say you can't grow something and then having loads spare to give them
