  • Hello from Surrey

    Hello everyone

I've been a long time lurker & have finally plucked up courage to start chatting with you all. I have dabbled in growing my own in pots but have finally taken the plunge & I am turning my overgrown garden into my little allotment. I had to give up work last year due to a complete breakdown, I was advised to find a hobby that gets me fresh air & exercise & my mum suggested gardening. She told me it would save me money on veg, plus it would be good for my mental health.

I'm looking forward to chatting & learning from you all, I just hope I don't annoy you too much with what I guess will be endless daft questions

Hello Hootie and Welcome You've only lurked for a short time, I lurked for 5 years until I was brave enough to face this lot - and now they can't shut me up So come and join in, most of them don't bite

A bit of gardening can do wonders to blow away the cobwebs and, I find, it takes my mind off other things and helps me relax like nothing else can!

A very warm welcome to the Vine to you!

                Hello and welcome.

I wish I'd lurked a lot longer - would have had the chance to run away, then.

Bring on the questions, the dafter the better

                  Hello hootie, welcome.

I was told to try yoga by my doc but I much prefer gardening
When weeding, the best way to make sure you are removing a weed and not a valuable plant is to pull on it.
If it comes out of the ground easily, it is a valuable plant.
