  • Hello from a complete novice

    Hi Folks
My name is Shaun and a complete novice when it comes gardening and growing your own.

A family member bought me some chilli and tomato kits last year to help keep me amused while recovering from a serious illness. The kits were not very successful but I caught the growing bug and ended up with a few raised beds and a handful home grown veg.

This year I hope have some more raised beds and possibly add a greenhouse.
Been looking around the forum for a while and thought I would sign up and try take things a bit more seriously and hopefully not ask too many silly questions.
    Shaun

Hi Shaun, happy gardening. It's quite more-ish. Once started it's hard to give up.

They rarely are: they dry out too much from being in a shop, imo. You get more success from an ordinary pack of seeds, but that doesn't look so pretty to give as a gift

Morning Shaun, welcome to the vine.
Growing your own is addictive, isn't it?
When weeding, the best way to make sure you are removing a weed and not a valuable plant is to pull on it.
If it comes out of the ground easily, it is a valuable plant.

                              Welcome to the vine sems.
Growing your own is very addictive, I started a patch at our local allotments a few years ago and find myself so bored over most of the winter months when there isn't much to do.
