Well the middle of the UK but as the world revolves around me it must mean the same thing. Yes?
OK as you may be thinking now this person is bonkers. Been out in the sun for too long. Correct.
Shhh secret. I have 2 allotment plots at different sites, Half a plot on a lovely flat patch thats workable and a full plot that used to be the rubbish heap and diffucult to work.
Dig down more than a few inches and there are decomposing bags of all sorts. Terrible. But having put so much effort into it I am loathed to move onto another one.
Starting to call it my fruit farm. As its hard work to dig, I have planted trees and bushes.
Apple, Plum and a cherry tree which may not be edible i found out today on this site.
(The reason i found this forum). No fruit yet but its early years for them.
Rhubarb, Strawberries, Raspberries. Very good year for all 3.
Red Currants and Black Currants. Red currants doing well but not much fruit. Either because they also are fairly young or because they are not netted?
Black currants are struggling. At home its the opposite i dug the red currant bush up because after 3 or 4 years it was still just a stick with a couple of leaves.
OK I think everyone must be bored and asleep by now.
Enjoy the sun whilst it lasts.
