New here with a slight problem

Hi everyone, new here, so hey
The reason i joined is because i need some help, i have some cucamelon plants about an inch or 2 tall, which have been doing so well! - However, today they got caught under the halide lights (Partner put the wrong lights on) for 2 hours, and well, they have wilted and are looking very sorry for themselves! - Is there anything i can do to stop them dying?
The soil was always moist, even through the intense heat, however, since the mishap, i have taken the plants away from any light, watered slightly, and popped them (with the pot) in a plastic bag to help keep the leaves moist..
Please help, i'm gutted

Firstly, welcome to the vine SB. I have never grown these so can't give you any personal advice. After a little searching, I found that they should be ready for picking around July so not sure if they would have made it to maturity anyway. I hope someone who has grown them can offer more advice.

Hey - Thanks for the reply I was growing these as an indoor plant, with the set up etc, to get the best experience for the right season, from what i have read and learnt with personal experience, the care is much alike the cucumber.. I've never had this happen to me before with any plants, so i'm in panic mode so to speak

Hi Seed-beaver and welcome. I'm sorry but I haven't the foggiest about growing anything under lights - let alone cucamelons. However I am growing them this year in the greenhouse - started earlier this year they're about 3-4' high. Once they start growing, they go mad. You may have difficulty containing them indoors.
Why are you starting them this late? Do you live in the UK? It would really help us if you put your location on your profile just so that we can understand your local weather a bit

Hiya - Sorry it didn't even cross my mind to update my location.. However yes i am in the UK, I planted them late on accident initially, I have been growing all sorts of exotics in my grow room these last few months, and somehow I managed to plant some of the seeds...
Although, I wouldn't have minded them going crazy in there any-ways, as I already have some swan gourds and horned melon going crazy with growth already .
I take it they're growing well in the greenhouse then? - Any pests?

It's a room I have dedicated to plants and seeds to germinate in the house, with grow bulbs and such HTH.

Why? Surely it would be easier to grow seeds and plants in daylight instead of inside the house.

In some respect yes, however I have a shared garden, and don't particularly want to be planting my plants out there lol, besides I'm not sure papaya's, pineapples etc. would do very well out there anyway

Lol, it has its downsides Veggiechicken - One is that, the more room I have, the more I want to plant in there! And thanks for the link, will give it a look through now, well, providing my little ones pull through

LOL only exotic fruits - Honest Besides I don't think I could stand the smell of certain plants

Exotic fruit won't do well in the UK, and will cost you a fortune in heating and lighting.

Well, they seem to be doing well so far, and I'm happy giving it my all As for the cost, it isn't any worse than having marine fish-tanks like I used to
