Hi there,
My name is Rowan and I recently moved to Bristol. I'm thinking of applying for an allotment there, I see there are a few plots vacant with little or no waiting list at some sites. I guess it will be a pretty unloved plot, overgrown and maybe poor soil.
I come under the category of complete novice, only every having grown a few spuds in a barrels, cauli, broc, spring onion and sweetcorn in planters in a back yard. If I decide to go for a plot, then no doubt you'll all soon become pretty fed up of me asking basic questions, but if anyone has any advice on taking over a plot in poor condition at the start of next year, I'd be happy to hear it!!
Good luck for the new year everyone, it's rapidly approaching!
