After searching the sites for sometime, I thought I would say ' Hi ' to everyone.
I was looking for a new hobby so Im a total new starter to all this growing!
After last year growing a few strawberries in pots and some flowers (which I managed to keep alive through out the summer ) I now want to continue, got the growing Bug
I feel a bit restricted as I just have a paved area at the back of my flat no garden, it can get windy and the sun isn't around a great deal in the summer ( goes by about 2 ish in the afternoon, that's when we get it in the North east lol) Despite my restrictions Im up for the challenge, growing in pots.
Iv had a trips to Morrisons for the famous flower buckets that seem to have a lots of different ways to used them, got some great tips from this forum I also have a few grow bags and planters a few square flower buckets and a few of the famous blowaways! Bought enthusiastically in last years sales until I found this forum, but still going to trying them as im just starting off.
I hope to grow lettuce, radish, spring onions, maybe tomato plants some chilli's, courgettes, beetroot, spinach, trying aubergine and cape gooseberries (which I love) carrots. I have planted garlic and onions in Autumn and already had some winter mixed leafs grown in the blowaway over the winter. All of this will be grown in trial and error I expect
Im thinking of trying to persuade my mother into giving me a bit of her garden, which she has grown strawberries for around 15 years but now plans to make a Lawn! She gets a good deal of sun and if I over plant Lol (know I will) I will take some pots to hers - although she dosnt know of my plans yet
