      £45 ?

I'll stick with big containers, with good beefy compost in it (a loamy leafmould mix, not just cheap fluffy MPC, and def. no coir).
Every container has a saucer (or old dinnerplate) underneath it, to conserve water

        Thank you Catseyes.
I have looked at the site and the earth boxes are good but expensive.I think I can make them more cheaply.
However I might try one of the organics ones to see if they are good.Earth boxes have a lot of fans in the US.
Have a look at Steamy kitchen's site.her garden is full of them!BigV.

You have to try things BigV, if you think they might suit you. Containers don't suit me at all, and as I said I find the self watering ones too small in the inner section. But with different climate/rainfall and different places to put them they could be very useful.
