  • Hi from London

Have been growing veg off and on for ages but this year would like to grow more, my space has increased now have to beds in a community project and have never grown in raised beds before. If this doesn't read that well it's because I have never posted anything on a forum before

HI from France. One thing you discover is that you can NEVER have enough space and even with an acre of veggie garden here we find we run out of space to put all the plants in! WE keep saying we will grow less next year but then we never do. Good luck with your raised beds, definitely the best way to grow things. Have you read about the 'Square foot' approach to sowing and planting? While I don't go all the way with Mel's special compost etc I find the general approach to sowing and growing in small areas and with the spacings he recommends works incredibly well!

Growing in raised beds isn't much different to growing in the ground - may need more watering though. Good luck with it.

Hi, don't worry to much about growing in raised beds its not really that different then growing in the ground and there will probably be someone who can help. You can of course ask anything you want on here.

Hi, and this is a great place for general information and lots on raised beds as well.

I'm just being a virtual gardener this season as we've no rain and it's so hot. At least I can get some information on things that I don't have time to look at when we have a good season.
