Hello from way down south - any further and they'd be speaking Spanish

If you fancy shipping some of your new/fresh garaged topsoil this way ...

I don't drive and get around Sheffield on the Bus / my Bike so It takes longer to get to South Sheffield than it would do to hop on a flight to the Canaries! As a result its a bit like when the Berlin Wall came down and either side of the city was (I imagine) slightly alien to the other!

I've spent my entire life in three houses all within 200 metres of each other so I'm also very protective of my 'hood, even if it does have the most horrifically claggy clay soil ever (to bring the conversation back onto a gardening track)
Welcome fron sunny Devon, the streets down here seem to be paved with i phones.
Intersting housing arrangements you had did you sleep in a different house each night?

For the first 48 years i lived in Worcestershire and in the same house (Farm) then uprooted and decided to explore the world, devon was as far as I got. There are a lot of people on here from Yorkshire probably because its free.

I find your stereotyping of Yorkshiremen objectionable.

I am on here because my whippet walked across my keyboard whilst searching for my flat cap and miraculously entered the web address. The fact that it is free is just a bonus (and the reason I'll stick around of course).

Er... It's beauty and cultural history overshadows the rest of the region and leaves me with an inferiority complex...?

I'm perilously close to being from Rotherham myself... far enough away to be safe but close enough to be subjected to low doses which have given me a natural resistance...

I've been threatened by people with Rotherham connections before but never by someone called Dorothy... If anything that just heightens my fear...

If it saves me I'm happy to become one of your henchmen Dotty, just don't make step foot in Wath...

Ah, South West Sheffield... I hope to retire there when I have made my fortune.

I feel priviledged that you were generous enough to grace my thread with your presence and I am also thankful for the fact that despite most likely being titled gentry you are humble enough to drop the 'Lady' from your username.

Next you will be telling me that you do your own gardening rather than leaving it all to your man servants
