My sincere thanks to everyone for the warm and friendly welcome.
I hope I will be able to learn many new things here and make my own contribution to help others.

Are you a back garden grower or do you have an allotment. ?
I've got a decent sized back garden and a couple of greenhouses. One of which has been taken over by flowers and the other I use for growing runner beans.
Originally I did tomatoes in both, but the harvest didn't justify the effort. Plus I can get organic on the vine tomatoes in town.
So I decided to switch to runner beans. It works very well. I have a couple of strong central wires and I use string (tied to the wire) instead of sticks and they clamber up those. A decent crop and more than enough seed for next year.
