Hello from Lincolnshire :-)

After many months lurking I've finally registered and posted! As my name suggests I'm from the Lincolnshire Wolds. I have a huge allotment that has just been ploughed and frankly I feel a bit overwhelmed just looking at it.

I'm already a bit of a gardener but I had different soil where I lived before. I've learnt so much from you all and I take a lot of encouragement and inspiration from your posts which I know will continue in the coming seasons (no pressure....).

I've taken pictures of my allotment in its post ploughing stage but I'm not sure where to post them for advice. Any ideas? Many thanks all.

I've just come back from the allotment after an hour's soil turning and raking. I've done a bit less than a third (5.3m by 9m). I've also measured what I think is my half of the plot and it's 34m long and 15m wide. Just doing that one area has made me realise I could indeed manage the whole thing with a bit of planning.

Hello and thank you Bigmally and veggiechicken. I've got loads of ideas about my plot but I've realised I've got some serious gaps in my knowledge so I'll definitely be picking a lot of brains.

I thought of taking advantage of some of the deep furrows?/ridges? and dropping in some spuds and raking the soil back over them as a sort of experiment.
I'm resizing my pics to go on a separate thread. I've never worked with soil like this -sandy, free draining, light, no stones and no worms strangely - tho' I did find a white caterpillar...
