Hi all, coming out of the woodwork

Hi! I read these forums a lot but haven't really posted that much - apart from when I don't know what type of plant I've been given is!

So a bit about me; I don't have a huge gardening area. I have a lot of plant pots crammed wherever I can squeeze them in on conservatory windowsill.

I especially enjoy herb growing - and always sow too much!

I also enjoy the art of bonsai, but always end up killing the trees I buy. I just bought a baby conifer today, so fingers crossed I can keep this alive!

So yeah, that's me. Hi!

Unfortunately, they all died. I have my new conifer in progress and trying a thyme bonsai just for fun. It's only little at the moment - this is from last week when I started it.

I'd say go for it. You'd have only pulled them up anyway!

Hi there...lovely to see you back!

I have tried doing bonsai on a couple of plants and I managed to kill both of them....I know there are at least a couple of grapes who have bonsai, hopefully they can give us some tips!

Hi Planter and welcome to the Vine. I have three oak bonsai(ish) trees planted from year 2000 acorns. They're left to their own devices in nine inch pots and have stayed at about 14 inches tall.

I bonsaied a horse chestnut many years ago, had it for 25 years and the leaves did eventually get smaller.
