Hi Everyone,
My partner and I recently got an allotment in Gloucestershire. We were very lucky in we didnt have to wait for a plot, a new development of houses had been built and with it 20 MASSIVE plots.
Ours has never been grown on before but was waist high with weeds so we have spent two months digging and digging and digging. We have done half the plot now and are hoping to get the rest done this year.
Our plan was to dig it all up, get some manure from our farmer friend and then rotivate it all together - cover what we dont use over winter and then hit the ground running next year.
We are also thinking of getting some chickens (we have all the books, but any first hand experience would also be welcome)
Any advice or helpful tips to starting out would be welcomed! Looking forward to soaking up all the knowledge from you lovely people
