Newbie London needs planner

Hi there
excited to say that viewing my half plot this week - never had allotment but used pots in small garden - would like to get a good start and looking for planner that can be used on tablet (Google) if anyone can give advice - prefer free one of course

I'm a back of the envelope doodler so not much help, sorry.

Have you seen your plot yet? Maybe it has a layout or sheds/plants that may influence your plans.
When you see it, take some photos and measure it up, noting where North is and any tall trees or buildings that may cast a shadow. Then come back and show us what you have. Having a chat about it here may help you decide your layout.

I'm assuming that when you say "planner" you mean for the layout and not a seed sowing planner?

Didn't think about a seed sowing planner... The garden online in the link is a layout planner - free for 14days, so get all your measurements ready before down loading.

I'm worse than you VC, I grow it then runaround trying to find space to put it if I haven't got any space left, I find a bucket.

thanks for the hints and tips will check them out and have paper to hand - will get some pics as open to ideas and at this stage have no idea what condition the plot is in - don't even know what to expect from half a plot but imagine its more than big enough for start

Hi PP, welcome from south of the river. I use Excel - I'm a bit nerdy and have a plan drawn to scale with each square/cell equivalent to 10cms. The first year I had my plot I used the existing structure from the person before, just so I could take time to figure out what it was like in different seasons/shades of damp.

Best advice I had was 'don't try to do it all at once'.
