    Hello all.

(edit: sorry about the rather long winded re-introduction )

I joined way back in 2008 when I thought it would be a good idea to try and grow veg having never grown anything before, well that is technically a lie, I did grow an apple tree from a pip from a supermarket apple which I planted when I was about 11 and there is now a nice big full size apple tree which started 2yrs ago (I am now 30) giving us what seems to be golden delicious apples (I am 100% certain the pips were from a gala as that is all I ate as a child) but besides that I never grew anything.
SO I bug up abit of my lawn and put 2 little square (about 1m2) raised beds in my garden with a view to if that went well I would dig up the whole lawn and one season I grew some green beans, beetroot, carrots, swede, turnips and cabbages. They all came out well except the cabbages which were eaten by a plague of big furry caterpillars I have never seen before.

But the problem is that I keep 4 rabbits and they have free-range of the garden and despite me building fort knoxx around my little patch the fluffy little blighters still got in and ate everything so I gave up and put my name down for an allotment, with 98 people on the list before me and them getting 1 free plot a year I gave up totally with a view to trying again in my garden when the rabbits are no longer with us.

Anyway I got a call on Thurs to say that after 6 years I finally have a plot, so after the initial panic of 'oh my god, what the hell am I going to do with that now' I am now very excited and keen to try again with my veggies and so here I am again.

I have been told the plot is 2.5 rods but I have not seen it yet and not yet got the paperwork but I have been advised that it is mine over the phone and I am waiting for the papers to be posted
