  • Hello from Dundee!

Hi everyone, I've been coming to the forum for a few weeks and really enjoying it so I thought I'd introduce myself. I'm 2, from Dundee, and in September I got a really nice plot 5 minutes away from my home.

I'm really into the idea of growing my own food, and re-using, recycling, that kind of. Last year I grew some things on my windowsill and in pots and this year I'm basically just going wild with a bunch of seeds from Dobies and seeing what happens. Yahoo!

Looking forward to chatting to you all

Hi, welcome to the vine! May I say how nicely you write for a two-year old?

How's the plot looking, did you get much done over winter to get it ready?

Think they start young in Scotland, to do with the harsh winters

            Hello!
I'm in Monifieth so will be picking your brains for climate-related stuff!

Where's your plot if you don't mind me asking?

I don't have a lottie, but have raised beds in my front garden in which I plan to grow things.

What sort of foods are you interested in growing? We're (rather madly) trying melons and chillis and peppers this year. Last year I had success with courgettes in pots and I've just planted up some lovely apple trees and raspberries.

I'll let you know if I see any recycling stuff about locally that may be useful

Sorry... I don't seem to be able to shut up

Hah! I knew my slightly wonky "3" key would cause me problems someday. I'm 23. Thanks for all your welcomes

Hi SkyChild! I'm in the East end. I'm really interested in growing a lot of tomatoes, onions, garlic, basil, as well as carrots, potatoes, broccoli, strawberries raspberries, apples and some other stuff! That sounds really nice about the raised beds. Ideal it's right outside your home. It's cool to have someone who's nearby for local issues

                        All the best

It's really nice actually. The previous owner kept it really well so there's a lot of raised beds all nicely prepared already. Just a bit of weeding, tidying and soil prepping to be done, it's just about there I'd say

Hello and welcome to the vine. Good for you on the seeds front - shove em all in and see what happens. I can almost guarentee lots of goodies to eat.
