Hi again, its been a few weeks since we joined the forum and we have been quite busy with our new allotment (half) plot.

We started like this;




But after a lot of hard work (it seems that the only thing keeping the bindweed in check was the couch grass) and a fair bit of skip diving (a huge load of decking and 4"x2" to make raised beds), fleabaying (a 7' x 6' greenhouse for £20), Freecycling (glass to fill in the missing panes in the greenhouse) and more hard work we've got to this stage.




Still a lot of soil to be sifted to get rid of as much of the bindweed and couch grass roots as we could but we are getting there.

Some rhubarb, gooseberries, raspberries, strawberries and jerusalem artichokes found lurking in the weeds have been rescued and where appropriate relocated a few seeds planted and the windowsills at home are full of chitting potatoes and other seedlings.

Looking forward to the next few months and stand by for stupid questions!
