Hi all, I've just seen this intro section....only 17 posts late
I am new here and new to allotments. I've just been given the keys (key code to the allotment gates haha) to my first allotment and though its massively overgrown I'm so excited.
So about me....I'm 41 and on a weight loss and exercise mission, so the allotment should help loads. I follow Slimming World (lost 4 stone nearly) and think growing my own fruit and veg will be brilliant for the diet. I do Zumba and Clubbercise (Exercise in the dark with glow sticks!) once a week but could do more. I have a little Jack Russell too so growing veg at home generally results in a muddy dog and dug up seedlings.
I'm also getting married next October and the wedding plans can be relentless so this will be my place of calm After the wedding it will keep me busy when suddenly the wedding plans stop, and the weeding plans begin haha. I'm going for a 100% organic plot and doing everything myself by hand.
Hope I haven't bored you. This is perhaps too much information but its honest
