    Thanks

Head to toe with the tats lol .

My aim is to show the world what is actually going on .
everyone around me moans about illness and death.
So i am growing my own food and teaching my kids at the same time .

People have no idea whats inside there mircal grow or any of the other products there using . Even our seeds from out local shops out polluted .

My goal is to show the world organically.

Some of the test are just by changing the PH of the water .
So on youtube at the moment im using 2 50 L buckets of poatoes .
I had halfed each potato previously and set a side.

One bucket gets just normal rain water and another bucket gets a PH water of 5.0 - 52 .
The test is not completely fair as i have not got anything stopping the rain water on the PH water bucket . but hopefully it will show by adjusting the PH slight u can get a difference in yield . as potatoes prefer a more alkaline environment,

There will be alot more test coming up alot fairer as well

Youtube is on 111 subs so far only really got the garden moving the last few months,

Id love to hear more about everyoe elses

    thanks for all the replys

That's interesting Bobby, I'm a real newbie to growing, this is my first year.

All I have done is chuck some seed potatoes into some 30l tubs and I'm just thrilled that they have actually grown! On Sunday I harvested my very own spuds!

Maybe next year I will do more experiments as you are doing. This is all reall great stuff and if I can get better yields doing things differently then I'm up for that!

          Excellennnt

Well done sarah poatoes are so fun to grow .

Have you been stacking them up ?

Did you get a harvest weight ?

I pretty much plant all year round i never follow instructions .

          Somethings work somethings dont .

It all depends on how we grow them

Never be scared of failure it just shows u how not to do it next time .

Plant easy things that crop qucik so your always rewarded with smiles

I have been earthing them up, yep.

I got 1.44 kilos from 3 seed potatoes but I made a proper rookie mistake, I mis-labelled the containers so I harvested the wrong potatoes!! I harvested my second earlier rather than my first earlies lol

Lesson learned, be more careful with labelling next year!

No damage done, potatoes tasted lovely, if being a little small

It was amazing when we tipped up the container and started feeling through the compost. I don't think I've ever been so excited at seeing the equivalent of a 'bag of spuds' lol

We are growing lots of other veg as well.

Have a look around all the other forum topics and posts, everyone posts lots of pictures of their plots and gardens, it's a really great site and everyone is really friendly.

Slugs are a real problem that people post so if you have any great ideas then please read all the posts and get stuck in with your ideas and experiences

                        Hello and welcome.

I watched Patrick Dolan - one yard revolution on the tube last night where he suggested that allowing centipeeds and other predators to exist in his woodchip mulch might be causing a reduction in the slug population, although it was just a theory at present. Interesting but of course some of us want a faster solution. I have applied nematodes twice this year and while they deal with the mature adult slugs they seem to take a while to get around to the young (say 4mm long) slugs that are still doing damage to my strawberries! Strawberries are on woodchip (2nd year) and fresh straw but the wet weather is no help. I have tried a small hugelkultur bed this year but its small and early to judge it yet.
I'm also planning to have a go at indigenous microorganisms and am presently making some IMO 1 to use about the plot, not sure if I already have a decent crop of organisms in the soil but I'm thinking it can't hurt to have a boost.
Anyway looking forward to watching your vids and following your progress, I won't be joining you with the tatts though, they'll look like they need ironing on me ;-)

P.S. in addition to nettle and comfry tea I have taken to 'recylcing' my own drinks as a source of nitrogeon, it has a number of other uses too like as an accelerant for composting. Bob Flowerdew is apparently an exponent of the practice too.
