If anyone is interested, here is what I'm working with

The greenhouse needs to go backwards 18 inches or so once i have extended the patio. It should then line up with the centre bed.
I have to build the third on the left still, it goes round a tree stump and is bordered with concrete so needs more attention. They need a bit of digging in still also!

And of course the brewery/bar at the back with a little patio (where the hops will grow....sshhhh)

Needs a path round the outside and a lick of paint (and some beer!)

I'm not sure the amount of space you have decides how experienced you are!

My attempts at spring onion have never been great. What kind of chillis have you grown? I have eaten so much courgette this year...

                Jalepnos I think !!
I brought a miracle gro pods, they come in different varieties. Brought a courgette and chilli pod. The courgette pod took over the container and the chili pod I sowed too late and picked to early as have about 20 chillis in brown bags ripening with a banana!!!

Hello CW and a warm welcome.

Rather than spend too much on 'soil', fill your beds with local resource and let it break down over winter. There is no shortage of leaves just now, find some wood chips from a shredded tree, toss all your kitchen waste in and let it do it's thing. Come April it will be a reasonable medium to grow in for next summer with the help of the worms, even if it's not full 18" depth by then it will still grow good crops. I would recommend a layer of cardboard/newspaper in the bottom first to surpress any weeds that might want to poke through and then pile it on. Continue to add mulch over the years and you will have deep well fed beds without any cash expenditure.
