Hi everyone, I've been a long time lurker, and just signed up for the magazine with my christmas money, so thought it was time to join the conversation too.

I got my first allotment back in October, an overgrown 1/3 plot of raspberries, redcurrants, blackcurrants. I've got big plans for this space in the next year. I've also got a packed balcony, and array of house plants.

Looking forward to the new growing season as my christmas (and birthday) haul included GO and HSL membership (my plot will be organic), along with a shed and a GW subscription, and RHS practical latin for gardeners. (Not a bad haul right!)

I'm not a very social person online, no Facebook, twitter etc., only just got a smart phone (through gritted teeth), but I keep ending up back here whenever i seem to need to Google something, and it seems like a really great community so figured why not.
Besides I've not got many gardener friends, and the look on my OH's face when i started going on giddily about the new extra heavy duty mypex that had djust arrived tells me i should probably find another outlet for those moments.
