  • Uploading Photos From Your Phone

    Before You Upload

If your photos are larger than 2mb or are in profile mode see the guide on editing on your Android phone here.

If you don’t want to have to edit your photos keep then in landscape mode and set your camera to 3 megapixels.
    Uploading An Image

When writing a post if you are not already in Advanced mode then click on the “Go Advanced” button.

Name:	upload 1.jpg
Views:	1
Size:	24.1 KB
ID:	2405196

In advanced mode click on the small icon in the top menu looking like a tree in a frame.

Name:	upload 2.jpg
Views:	1
Size:	21.7 KB
ID:	2405197

This will bring up the image upload dialog. Make sure that “From Computer” (marked 1) is selected then select “Browse” (marked 2). Navigate to and select the photo you want to upload.

Name:	upload 3.jpg
Views:	1
Size:	22.4 KB
ID:	2405198

    Next Click on Upload.

Name:	upload 4.jpg
Views:	1
Size:	22.0 KB
ID:	2405199

If the upload is successful you should see the [Attach] tags in your message.

Name:	upload 5.jpg
Views:	1
Size:	22.5 KB
ID:	2405200

If the Upload dialog clears without inserting these tags then your file is probably too big and you need to go back and edit it.

I usaually just go to 'Go Advanced' >>>> 'Manage Attachments' and follow directions from there.
On my phone I use an app called Photo and Picture Resizer and just resize piccies prior to up loading

Whats the advantages/disadvantages of using either method.

One of the main differences is that you get to write the how to do it your way.

      With pictures of course.

      Thanks for volunteering.

I’m giving this thread a bump! A few users are having trouble with uploading images.

If your image fails to upload it’s generally because the image is too big. Either follow Jays links or if using an iPhone or iPad edit your picture prior to uploading. Taking a small slice off side and bottom/top using the crop tool in edit is usually enough. This takes seconds.

If your images loads upside down or on its side this is due to using an @pple product. To stop this happening again use the edit function on your iPhone and crop the image slightly.

Yes, I’d had trouble loading photos: I guessed that I needed a resizer app. Good thread though

When I try to upload images I can't even see the advanced box. Not sure why.

Willy what do you use (Android / iPhone) and how far into the instructions do you get.

As I'm typing this on the phone as a reply I need to scroll down to see the three buttons "post quick reply" "go advanced " and "cancel"
