If they're that bad why aren't I knee deep in corpses?
I did find an article in the Guardian which went on about hedgehogs but omitted to mention predation by badgers.
1. Because they die on someone else's plot.
2. Because that's the kind of story you read in the Telegraph. (Which reports that hedgehogs are eaten by badgers because humans have destroyed hedgehog habitat and hiding places and badgers are hungry.)
Well I've stopped using them as they get eaten by rats.
I used to put them round capsicums in the green house as even a small slug can ruin a nice pepper but they seem to attract rats who were eating them up over night and the slugs were still ruining the peppers. The iron phosphate ones are no better.
