I got an allotment!!!

Beyond ecstatic yesterday when the letter landed on my doormat 🙂
It's in a nice secluded back corner of a site very close to the house, and at only £26 per year I think it will pay for itself very quickly. Just waiting for the lease and keys then I can get stuck in.

I couldn't tell from where I was, but the rest of the site is so well maintained I should imagine it would be. It's all fenced too so I can take the childebeasts with me without fear of them trampling neighbouring plots. It's surrounded by trees on the south side so may be a little light restricted, but I can work with that. Just over the moon!
I will post pics as soon as I can properly get access and will undoubtedly be looking for advice on clearing etc.

I'm not sure, I emailed the guy from the council back to confirm and just waiting on the reply. I may try calling this morning just to be sure he gets it. I'm hoping soon though as I want to be able to get stuff planted asap. Thankfully I have some stuff well established from the container garden I can just drop in (instagarden- just add water!) and lots of stuff I can still direct sow.
Kids all have green fingers so I think they will love this as much as I will

Congratulations! Just as well you've not got plot 8 - how would you know which one it is? (There are two plot 8s.)

Ah, they are redfield allotments 1 and 2, then your plot number. Some of those plots do seem quite small, I'm guessing some were divided for demand to be met

MudSwat and the Childebeests - I like it.
Odd shaped plots are better than rectangles IMO - they force your mind into planting outside the box - not in conventional rows but in blocks and shapes.
