      Oooooh what you doing?

Neil was the same when we got our allotment - full of plans and ideas for building stuff yet it's me who is there 99.9% of the time! Even my plot neighbour Tony says he hasn't sen Neil since last year!
If I'm not on the Grapevine I can usually be found here!....https://www.thecomfreypatch.co.uk/

The wife will be down to dig once the weedkiller has done it’s stuff.... in the meantime I’ve installed the IBC and added some pavers to finish off the half done path. We have to cultivate 50% in 6 months so doing the side with no bindweed (righthand side of photo), it will have squash, peas and beans as the small plot is well planted already (small plot goes after harvesting). The other side needs the rhubarb rescuing and the apple trees pruning, masses of strawberries have bindweed so they will be ripped out. In it for the long haul..... all but beat marestail on the last plot, so this is a walk in the park lol

3 bin compost system is under construction and a site chosen for a greenhouse, hopefully I can find a 12x8 on FB going cheap.

Good luck. Hope you have lots of fun and enjoyment out of it. Nice shed and a lovely little pond, by the look of it.

Will your weedkiller kill the wildlife in the pond?

No weedkiller within 4m of the pond, thats a hand weeding area.

Couple of hours work today on the ‘BIG’ one.

cleared an area that had been a previous tenants hap-hazard attempt at a compost bin. Had 6 pallet collars dumped around the plot, so the’ve been put to good use in making a 3 bin system.

In clearing the area I’ve found young cherry, apple and a pear tree dumped on the top of the pile. Sadly the pear tree is done for, but the other two are recovering in buckets of water.

Not sure my impatient nature will allow time for the weedkiller time to work.... need a flamethrower

With the help of swmbo we have simple dug an area approx 8x7m. Very compacted soil but thankfully the little bit of recent rain made it a little easier.

Still got approx 10x7m to go to complete the righthand side of the plot before it can be rotavated. The lefthand side is a whole different beast.

Good day on the BIG one...

Rotavated to area we have rough dug.

Planted some Maris Piper and Arran Pilot, also got 5 squash plants in and a row of dwarf beans.
