  • Slug resistant first earlies

Any advice - slugs decimated one variety of first earlies last year - slugs seem to be the major impediment on my plot. I don't bother with main crop because blight is almost a certainty

I grow Swift and I've never had a slug problem with them.

I've just seen Wilja on Mcdood's list. They are my second earlies of choice. They are great as a new potato or for mashing, roasting, or chips. A great all rounder. They store well. I've still got a nearly full sack left I'm eating now. In wet Summers I leave them in the ground until I see the first small slug hole then dig them up quickly. I don't grow maincrop at all.

Gone for swift. As memory serves they were the first earlier that didn't get decimated. Thanks all
