How big is your allotment?

I bet this has been asked before but I couldn't find it via the search. Mine is 70 metres by at least 6 metres (I'm the end plot and awaiting news on whether I can dig a wee bit further towards the boudary) making a total area of 420 square metres (504 square yards).

That seems fabulously huge to me (not that I will struggle to fill it ). Are others similarly blessed? More so? Not so much?

Plot 1 is 10m by 25 m, 250 m2 or 10 rods. Plot 2 is 5m by 25m, 125 m2 or 5 rods, or so I am led to believe!

Now then, size isn't everything, its what you do with it.
I plant small bits of this and that, and manage to get an allotment dinner most days of the year.
My plot is short and fat, no idea about actual measurage.

My plot is 8 big paces by 4 big paces, but by spring it will be 2 big paces longer.
But then, all the borders have food growing in them as well as all the pots and tubs. If I see any bare patches of earth anywhere, I plant flowers. The snapdragons are still in flower and autumn colours are everywhere.

Someone, I think on here said for my measurements think tennis court so I do! Can never remember the rods, metres or whatever anyway but that's about the size of it.

Over 400 square metres is a very big plot. 70 mteres in length is approximatly 20 poles so it sounds like you've got two plots stuck end on end. If you can clear and fill that you're doing very well!

My allotment is 30m by 10m but its in a wedge shape so the total area is 200 square metres.

Mine is officially 12' x 50'. But there is a bit of a ditch to a metal fence at the end, so I am intending tackling that soon for utility space (compost heaps, a wee shed-like shelter (sheds not allowed), and either flowers, grass or maybe even more fruit/veg). There's probably another 5'x12' in that area.

There are very few "whole" plots on our site - most are at least halved and quite a few are quartered (like mine).

I got my allotment in December 07 and I was advised it is a half plot.

It measures 50ft x 27ft.

mine is 95' x 13' and is a half plot. Got it in August and have just finished digging it, or the OH has and manure has been dug into half of it.

Can't wait for the spring!

Mine is approx 20ft by 100ft. Have never actually measured it.

Plenty big enough for me and the chooks.

Mine is about 12' x 110' - long and thin but fine for me!!
