    Potato Slugs

I also have a partially broken upturned flowerpot in a shady damp spot (by the waterbutts) that attracts snails. They congregate under it and I kill them. Sounds grim, but it's them or our lettuces.
Whilst slugs are a problem, I've found that Red potatoes suffer less damage than White ones. I purchase my seed potatoes from Thompson & Morgan and
find that their notes on each variety i.e. resistance to slugs and disease very helpful.

This year I intend to try Nematodes as well as I am fed up with slug damaged potatoes
