Digging Over

Hi, all..... Its raining where I live today! Is it easier to start digging over my allotment when it is raining do you think? Am desperate to try to clear some ground - there are weeds everywhere

i dont think its particularly easier or harder, as long as you dont mind getting wet. Mind your back tho as the soil will be heavier.

It's hard work whenever you do it GDB! I was digging on Thursday & it was about 25C !!! I nearly ran out of Tea

It may be easier to break the soil up after abit of rain (depending on your type) as som of the bit I was digging had sett like concrete, but it's the last bit to be done after having the plot for 4 years so I've no Idea how londg since it was dug.

I always go out and weed after the rain, it makes it much easier to pull them up

Don't dig very wet ground. My father did 7 months ago and he's in hospital now. (He hurt his leg and foot).

THanks for the advice Lesley - am hoping the weather is going to be nice this weekend so I can carry on with my digging.... Have just noticed that you are from cheshire - all my family live in Widnes,Cheshire.....
