  • I'm sooooo lucky ....

....this is MY new lottie!!! No brambles or junk to clear - just grass and annuals which I hope will be easy to cope with. I'm a wee bit worried about the tree - it isnt actually on my plot but its leaves are and presumably half its roots as well! The greenhouse is very rundown and missing 4 panes of glass but again nothing insurmountable.

When I first saw the plot, when chosing between it and a half plot next door, the bare patch at the back was actually full of fruit (raspberry?) bushes but in the intervening weeks the previous owner has obviously been and dug them all up. Disappointing, but left me with decent weedfree soil to work with so I aint complaining!!

Watch out for many many questions in the coming weeks folks, now I'm officially a lottie holder - yeyyyyyyyy!!!!!!

              Very pleased for you!
              Looks in good condition too.
Don't worry about the tree- it may well give some shelter to the greenhouse in the blazing heat of summer ( HA!)
Have you worked out N/S directions yet?

( your cheeks aching yet with all that grinning you must be doing??)

I THINK, looking up the plot taking the first photo, you are looking east. The sun curves around to the right then sets where I'm standing taking that first photo - but I need to confirm this when the sun eventually appears.

I can't believe what good condition its in, espech seeing the plots some of you lot have taken over - and no, I havent stopped grinning yet!! Now I just need to convince the boss to let me work parttime in return for a regular supply (hopefully!) of veg and I'm sorted!!

shout up if you want some seeds - or is seed-buying how you spent your Christmas away from the Vine...?

Thanks Hazel honey - I have some seeds left over from last years attempts at home (when I can get to them at the back of the shed behind the bbq, folding chairs, OH tools .... ) so will see what's there first. Oh, plus OH little spending spree of yesterday as well, picking what HE wants US to grow .. hmm?! Mind you, he did buy a spade for himself so he can come help dig, which is a good sign!

Think this is going to be a very very steep learning curve ... will probably drive you all mad with daft questions
