Chicken manure pellets

Hi There, Last year I bought a whole load of chicken manure pellets on a buy 1 get 1 free offer with the intent of using them for my flower beds.
I never got round to using them but as I am now starting my own veg plot are they any good for using in my raised beds?
My raised beds are going to be filled with
Dandy's Organic blended top soil as they are empty at the moment.

Nothing wrong with using chicken pellets in your veg plot. They just give a nitrogen boost.

Are you now advertising for that topsoil company by any chance???

Sorry, wasnt meaning to advertise, removed the link, i was just trying to show which one I was going with incase there was any issues with adding the pellets to it as it was already a blended topsoil.

As I can't follow the removed link - don't see what was wrong with it CC? I can't see how 'Organic' your top soil is.

If its organic as in with a soil association certification and you want to stay organic in that way, then Rooster is a certified organic chicken poo. Lots say organic but just mean in a 'chemical constituent' kind of way not soil association.

No worries Bassman, lots of grapes putting on link, it is ok . I guess CC was just joking.

I use pelleted chicken manure too (apart from dried cow manure), they are very good for your soil. I let mine composted first to avoid burning the seedlings. They are very good for tomatoes too.
Give it a go and you will see how good they are .

Not sure i'd use the pellets where you are going to grow peas this year, as they fix their own nitrogen. Someone with more knowledge than me may give a better account of this. Only thinking out loud here.

In our first year on the lottie with no compost ready, the manure we'd been given still raw, and the comfrey newly planted, these pellets were all we had in the way of fertilizer. We managed a decent crop of onions and potatoes with them. We only have a few small raised beds for salad crops, growing everything else 'on the flat', but I think I'll be using chicken pellets on the beds this year......by the way, the tubs always say "odourless" - but they're not!

I'm thinking of buying some of this stuff as well. It's only because I'm a veggie and the thought of using Blood, Fish and Bone makes me want to vom. I have no problems with poo but BF&B just freaks me out hahahaha.

I always use chicken pellets now, easier to use and store. I was once told horses muck retained seeds unless it was really well rotted. You won't transplant weeds with the pellets.
