we have the Green book and the Blue book. Both of which are like war and peace. Then we also have the Ground Steward who can proclaim Bye laws.

We have no buildings higher than 5ft 10in or bigger that 8x4 except fruit cages that cant be bigger that 1/3 of the plot but not higher that 5/10. No Poly tunnels.

Bonfires after 3pm or 5pm (Summer) only.

They just revoked the no making tea in your shed.... I thinks cos the execution squad were getting tired.

we only have 10 rules and they are quite strait forward , 1 shed , 1 greenhouse no size limit and no livestock and keep your plot tidy .
the health and safety accessment they do each year is the one with the main do's and don'ts .

a few of our rules are

sheds and greenhouses/polytunnels allowed but only with written permisson of the president.

no perennial plant over six foot high

no perennial plants within 18 inches of the plot boundary

            keep it tidy

            no livestock/bees

paths to the right are your responsibility
(letters sent out on regular basis)

bonfires only between Oct and March and only if the wind is blowing away from the houses

there are loads more about 3 sides of A4 but life is too short

it's a shame some places are so strict - we are supposed to be having fun and enjoying a hobby.

The site I am on is relaxed and happy. I haven't had a list of rules yet - the only one I know is we can keep any livestock except goats and horses

Our rules are on one side of an A4 piece of paper, and are mainly concerned with keeping your plot in good order, & how many warnings you'll get! "No new livestock" is the one that P's me off, as in the old guard who already have chickens can keep & replace them but new people can't have any at all...

I've never been given any rules for my plot or even signed a tenancy agreement that I'm aware of (this may be because my Father made the enquiries for me and is a member of the local council ).

We've clearly allowed greenhouses, sheds and polytunnels as loads of people have them in all sorts of shapes and sizes as well as tons of chickens and a couple of goats. We have a communal burning area we can all dump stuff on so bornfires are allowed. I can't actually think of anything I've heard we can't do in fact
