Si i was thinking would it be ok to just place it all on top of the ground where my path's are to keep the weeds at bay ?

    would this work?

What a waste of manure - it's far better composted or worked into your veggie beds. Shame you're so far away - if you have too much I would have loved some.

If you have too much I would just give it away Roadkill. It really does get slimy, so not a good surface to walk on.

              Hi Roadkill,

Can you not just pile it up in a corner to rot down even more? This time next year it'll be even better to use on your fruit & veg.

I agree with the others, pile it up in a corner somewhere till you can use it, failing that pass it on to someone else ( they will love you forever!)

Someone brings great truck loads of manure to our allotment site - of varying quality. In November there was loads of really well rotted stuff, so we spent ages wheel barrowing as much as we could down to our plot.

At the moment there's massive piles of not rotted manure that's more wood shavings, straw & hay than manure, so I've been using that as pathways and as a blanket mulch to surpress weeds in certain areas.

So, Roadkill, I suppose it depends on the quality of the manure you've been offered.
