What to Grow in Shady Spots

Can anybody advise me what I can grow in my shady spot at my allotment.
It does not get much sun and is heavy and wet until it does warm up a bit later on. I know I can improve the soil, but don't know what to plant?

Salads are ok in shade. I've also found the brassica family to be very accommodating on my shady side. Many plants are quite un-choosy and will still give you crops even if you can't provide the ideal conditions.

Thanks for that, I did wonder about salad, might try brocolli or cabbage.

Even ponds get a bit manky in the shade. Green water etc.

Comfrey (Russian, Bocking 14) loves damp shade. Use it as an activator for your compost heap and as a fertiliser.
