  • New plot advice

Ive moved this thread form vegging out as I think i put it in the wrong section.
I am just about to take over a 3/4 plot that is brand new. I want to start off with main crop spuds as I develop the plot
Its quite roughly ploughed and will need digging over to break up the great clumps. I thought to store some spuds, but basically to use the plot to grow low maintenance veg as I have a largish garden with G/house and P/tunnel for high maintenance stuff. I guess what I am really after is advice on starting the lottie up?

My advice is - get cracking!
Seriously, what exactly do you want to know? Do you want advice on what is low-maintenance veg? I feel there's something precise you're after, not just general advice?

Hi Brooklyn, the best plan is to take your time. Draw a plan of your lottie, where the shed, compost bin, water butt, paths are etc. Spit the plot into beds so you can rotate them year by year. Dig the part first that you wanted to plant spuds, then base your rotation on these. Most of all enjoy yourself.
      good Diggin, Chuffa.

Decide exactly what you want to grow first (or at least have an idea). Then split the plot up into manageable chunks. Then like Two_Sheds said, get crackin'.

Theory's great, but cannot beat hands on experience.
