I've got my eye on an old bath and some bits of carpet which have been left on a neighbouring plot which doesn't seem to be in use. What would be the best way of finding out if I could adopt these? I could ask the rep, though he's not around very often and is very vague.... Or should I just ask the other plot holders....? Seems a shame to go and find alternatives if the bits are just sitting there unused and looking untidy too. Opinions/advice gratefully received.

ask the allotment committee, because if you take it without permission it is classed as theft even if the allotment doesnt have a current tennant._____________
Cheers Chris

The early bird cathes the worm...
I'd take it but put a sign on it or where it was saying "I've taken this because I thought it was free. If its yours let me know and I'll put it back".
I'm sure that will sort it one way or another. Also I'm sure the committee would be more than happy for you to have it.
