i've had the same problem with cats- the only way i found to combat it was to cover the beds with either chicken wire or fleece. Plus I spend half my day looking out the window to check for cats and then running out and chasing them out of the garden! I'm getting quite good now as they leg it as soon as i go outside and i haven't even had to resort to getting a water pistol!

If anyone finds a certain cure for cats using your garden as a toilet I want to know!! I've tried almost everything and the little b******s still come in.

My sister used to have one of those things that only cats could hear it seemed to work till someone decided to steal it from their front doorstep.

My cat problem is our own cat (I suspect neighbouring one's too but ours is worst).

I am hoping to dig over an out of the way bit of earth and keep that raked finely and add sand to it to encourage the cats to use that as a loo and leave my veg beds alone.

my friends that have cats always tell me, with a big smile on their faces, that their cats never poo in their own garden! it makes me sooooo mad. If you're a dog owner you have to be responsible and clean up after your pet yet cat owners get away with not having to do anything!
they use the excuse that cats bury their poo so it's more hygienic- what a load of rubbish! i often used to find piles of poo on the surface of my veg bed not to mention the risk of toxoplasmosis contaminating the soil and the veg growing in it.
            rant over!!
personally i would try anything and everything to keep them off. do you have any friends with very large dogs you could borrow for a few weeks?

I think they are indifferent to them but they are poisonous to cats.
