Hello I am a lady of mature years[Lol] and I have taken on a half plot I have potatoes, and onions , peas , sweet peas , spinach, runner beans , small beans, etc growing .But a quarter my plot is still under plastic ,now what shall I do ,try and dig the manure in [put on in Jan] or shall I leave it under plastic until next year , I must admit it looks a mess and I don't want to upset other plot holders they have been really helpful to me.

If you've got nowt to put in, I'd leave it as it is. It'll be wonderful by the start of next season.

If you have nothing to put in, I'd second Norm.

But if you wanted things to put in now, perhaps through the plastic rather than having to dig the lot, you could think about sweetcorn (direct sown) or pumpkins/squashes. You might also be able to get brassica plants now, or start some cabbages in July (as I was advised last week by the lovely peeps here) for a spring crop.

But clean plastic rather than a mess of weeds would surely be more than welcomed by fellow plot holders? Especially if you have manured underneath and are clearly going to use next year.

Thanks I thought I might leave it until I can get to it, I must say the rest of the plot is looking great though. I am very pleased with it ,and I am thrilled with the things that are growing ,all planted by my fair hand , and for the first time to .

Well done Flowerpower, keep up the great work. You will have time to source materials ie compost, soil conditioner for next season

good on ya FP - tis my first time at lottieing, well, not quite - I was lucky enough to have a Pa that had lottie in his blood and Sis (Lady Jana Muck) and I had a good grounding in lottieing as we grew up - this is my first time alone without Pa to guide me
