Got caught out by frost last night, potatoe tops blackened. Do I have to remove leaves or will they be ok. Any advice will be appreceated.

Just leave them if you are able when another frost is forcast and you can get there early enough in the morning wash the frost of the leaves with water some time's it works provided you get there before the sun comes up the potatoe's that got hit last night will recover but take longer to crop jacob

i don;t suppose there's any hope for my courgettes/ cucumbers that got got last night? my potatoes got got too but look ok, and i know theres no hope for my beans but the courgettes look like they may still have some life left in them, is there anything i can do to help them recover?

Don't think there's anything you can do Becca but hope - or pray.

Mine got hit too as I discovered last night. The plants that did suffer were too big to earth up (how does one earth up if one does not have any more earth to up?), luckily there were quite a few with leaves only just poking out so they've been earthed up proper.

I didn't want too many earlies anyway!!

I've mulched the courgettes and cucumbers up a bit more with chopped down nettles (thanks to my excellent new grass whip) in the hope of protecting them from further onslaughts and I'm gonna sow some more inside tonight as I don't have much hope.. fortunatly a sowed a few more beans a week or 2 ago so I'll be able to replace them.. it's just heartbreaking seeing everything you've nurtured die, my boyf thought i was mental cos I actually could have cried.. :O/
