    Hi SM,
You can grow Leeks, kale, PSB, cabbages (winter), spring cabbages, chinese cabbage, pak choi, chard, parsnips, winter raddish, all to be harvested through the winter or early in the spring! If you're too late to plant seeds, then take a look at local GC's to see if they've any plantlets you can buy to grow on!

As for overwintering, then onions from set, garlic, overwintering broad beans and peas, spring onions, all for harvest early next year!

    HTH!
    Blessings

I bought some kale seeds off internet therefore came without sowing instructions!Would it be worth sowing now or am I best off saving for next year?~not that I think I'll get any sowing done today!!~tis blowing a gale!!

i asked about this on another thread, but ....
i have 3 year rotation - if i'm planting brassicas now, they need to go in where the beans and beans come out, meaning i'm planting next years crop early, and i won't be able to plant more brassicas in that bed next year ....

likewise i could plant spuds where this summer's cauliflowers come out, and dig them up for christmas, but in spring it has to be beans and peas etc

so essentially the 3 year rotation becomes 18 months ....

or the alternative would be to cover the bare ground over the winter

but everyone seems to be growing stuff over the winter ........

so .... how do i do a rotation system so that i have stuff growing all year round ????
