This is where self managed sites have the upper hand, our wonderful site manager keeps a very close eye and all plots are inspected every month April to September and letter are sent out to those plots not being worked, we have a 3 strike policy, friendly word from site manager, letter from site manager asking for them to attend to their plot then i send a last letter giving notice to quit ! we have only 1-2 plots not in a worked state and they are being watched closely !

well I had my name down for 2 yrs and as my mate was still waiting we have got half each thought it would help him out.
Half a plot is better than none for both of us half the costs and a banter also.
Maybe you can put this idea forward and get one sooner for anyone looking for one.
I have it all to weed and get going after the bloomin snow goes
Oh well will get ripped into it as soon as I can.
good luck allAfter all the digging needed to keep the weeds down yes that will be me one day.
Just started on the plot or was that loosing the plot.
Keen to learn.

hi,ive had my plot for just over a year and through a lot of hard work it looks pretty good. my main problem is the couple next door. they started not long after me and i have only seen them on their plot 3 times in 10 months! Its hard enough fighting the weeds on my own plot without watching theirsspread on to mine. Im hoping that now the rent is due they pack it in and someone who actually wants one will get it. I too have a bark path, mainly because it didnt cost me anything but it does make it easy to get around the plot in all weathers.

Allotments - unfair system
Wow, what a lot of threads. Where I live they don't have "allotments", they have "Common Gardens". Wonder if that's a way of getting round the usual rules. When the weather is (marginally) better I shall go up there and see what's there. There's pleasure sure in being mad that only madmen know - Anon
