Our allotments are self-managed. We have a very capable Rep who sorts everyone out. She's remarkable: got derelict plots dug over by volunteers, and the site has gone from 50% to 100% let in 3 years.

Our small site (a dozen plots) belongs to the village church. It was originally ear marked for car parking but the building of a bungalow close to it made access difficult and it's been used as allotments for years. They are smaller than the standard plot, have a water tank on the site, no sheds (because the plots are small) but then, everyone lives within a short walk so that's no problem. The site rep seems only to collect the rents -£14 per full plot per year - but I don't think there have been any problems.Whoever plants a garden believes in the future.

Mine is run by the Parish Council who seem to have entirely different rules to the council proper who manage most of the sites round here.
Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.
Which one are you and is it how you want to be?
