The recent frosts have just nipped the tops of my potato plants that were poking through the tops of the earthing up, not stressing about it as they will recover. Just remember folks we have been known to of had frosts in June so don't go mad planting stuff out quite yet, I have alot of stuff in the greenhouse and still have a paraffin lamp on at night so as to stop the frosts nipping them, especially the 25 Butternut Squash seedlings that have not long appeared which I'm not prepared to risk at the moment. The day that Microsoft makes something that doesn't suck ...

I will shortly put the squashes out as they are getting pretty big. They are going into big topsoil plugs on top of several wheel barrow loads of couch grass roots sealed under horse manure. There is some bottom head so as long as it is not a freezing wind they should be all right.
The first od several late frosty nights got the first two leaves on my runner beans but they are coming back again.Near Worksop on heavy clay soil
