  • Cool & Shady

I need some help please, i have a bed about 8ft sq at the side of my shed at the lottie & even though its south facing because of the shed at one side and trees at the other & the houses at the back it is very shaded and only in the height of summer (whats that i hear you ask) does it get any proper light & heat......so what can i grow there folks??? everything ive put there has strugggled or failed all together, so any suggestions greatly appreciated. Thanks

Raspberrys are a woodland fruit so should grow well in a partially shaded area.

Also, what about using it as a seed bed, to get stuff started off - or to keep seedlings there to hold them back until you've got space elsewhere?

Most leafy stuff doesn't mind being in some shade. Part of my garden veg plot is shady except at the height of summer. I still rotate things round and most things cope well. Good luck with it.
