Nearly a week has passed since I planted my chill seeds and I have noticed some white fury stuff forming on the compost, I have my seeds in trays and tubs which are covered with air holes in them, they are also sitting in the airing cupboard. Is there anything I can do?

they may need more airflow as well, (seeing as you have them covered and in a warm place), to stop it formingVive Le Revolution!!!'Lets just stick it in, and see what happens?'Cigarette FREE since 07-01-09

Mould is caused by over-watering and insufficient airflow.
You don't need to buy Cheshunt Compound ~ just don't over-water in future, and get some air to your seeds. They shouldn't be steamy.
These ones have probably had it. I hate to say, but try sowing again after the shortest day. January would be good.Last edited by Two_Sheds; 11-12-2008, 08:16 AM.All gardeners know better than other gardeners." -- Chinese Proverb.
